- Issued For: Individuals wanted by national authorities, usually for serious crimes such as terrorism, murder, or trafficking.
2. Blue Notice
- Purpose: To locate, identify, or obtain information on a person of interest in a criminal investigation.
- Content: Similar identifying information to the Red Notice, but without a request for arrest.
- Issued For: Individuals whose whereabouts or activities need to be tracked for investigative purposes.
3. Green Notice
- Purpose: To provide warnings and criminal intelligence about persons who may commit criminal acts in other countries.
- Content: Details on the individual’s past crimes and potential risks they pose.
- Issued For: Known criminals who may threaten public safety internationally.
4. Yellow Notice
- Purpose: To help locate missing persons, often minors, or identify persons who cannot identify themselves.
- Content: Description and photographs of the missing person or unidentified individual.
- Issued For: Missing children, vulnerable adults, or unidentified individuals found in a country.
5. Black Notice
- Purpose: To seek information on unidentified bodies.
- Content: Physical details and other relevant identifiers of the deceased.
- Issued For: Unidentified bodies discovered in member countries.
6. Orange Notice
- Purpose: To warn of an imminent threat or dangerous event, including weapons, explosive devices, or dangerous individuals.
- Content: Detailed description of the threat and any relevant information to prevent harm.
- Issued For: Potential threats or events requiring international alertness.
7. Purple Notice
- Purpose: To seek or provide information on modus operandi, objects, devices, or concealment methods used by criminals.
- Content: Description and details about criminal methods or tools.
- Issued For: Cases where sharing knowledge on criminal methods could aid law enforcement globally.
8. Interpol-United Nations Security Council Special Notice
- Purpose: To alert countries about individuals and entities subject to sanctions imposed by the United Nations Security Council.
- Content: Information about the person or entity, sanctions applied, and reasons for the UN’s listing.
- Issued For: Individuals or groups linked to terrorism, particularly Al-Qaeda and the Taliban, or those subject to other international sanctions.
