Indian origin scientist Gopi Thotakura has created history. Gopi Thotakura became the first Indian space tourist and the second Indian after Squadron Leader Rakesh Sharma to reach space as part of the crew of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin’s NS-25 mission.

• Blue Origin successfully completed its 7th human space flight and 25th flight for the New Shepard program on May 19.

Members of New Shepard (Mission NS-25):

• Gopichand Thotakura: An entrepreneur and pilot of Indian origin.
• Ed Dwight: Former Air Force aviator. At the age of 90, he set the record for the oldest person in space.
• Mason Angel: Founder of Industrious Ventures.
• Sylvain Chiron: Famous for leading the Brasserie Mont Blanc, representing France in the team.
• Kenneth L. Hess: A software engineer and entrepreneur, the technical expert on the mission.
• Carol Schaller: Retired Certified Public Accountant.
